Cheesy Chicken Malai Tikka Crepes Recipe

Cheesy Chicken Malai Tikka Crepes are the favorite savory of my family members, especially kids are very fond of this savory. Also, this is the easiest method of making kids to eat the vegetables along with the chicken & the cheese stuffing in it. You can serve this savory at breakfast (or) snacks time.
Here I am sharing a simple recipe of cheesy chicken malai tikka. So, do try it...as it tastes amazing.

Prep Time: 20 Minutes
Cooking Time: 40 Minutes
Total Time: 60 Minutes
Serves: 7 Crepes

Ingredients for making crepes batter –
1 cup of All-purpose flour (Maida)
2 tbsp Clarified butter
1 Egg
1/2 cup Water
1/2 cup Milk
Salt to taste  

Blend all the ingredients to form a consistency and keep aside.

Ingredients for chicken malai tikka marination –
400 gms – Chicken Breast (Cut them into medium strips)
3 tbsp – Greek (or) Thick Yogurt/Curd
3 tbsp – Cooking Cream (or) Fresh Cream
Salt to taste
1 tsp – Blank pepper powder
1 tsp – Garam masala powder
1/2 tsp – Chaat masala powder
1/2 tsp – Cumin powder
1 tsp – Red chili flakes
1 tsp – Kasturi methi
1 tsp – White vinegar (or) Lemon juice
1 tsp – Ginger garlic paste.

Mix all the above-stated ingredients to form a paste further add chicken strips to it, coat it well & cover it with the cling wrap & refrigerate for 15 minutes.

Ingredients for crepes stuffing
1 Medium size onion - chopped
3 tsp – capsicum – Chopped
3 tsp – carrot – grated
1 cup - mozzarella cheese (or) any other cheese (grated)

Instructions for cooking cheesy chicken malai tikka crepes–
  1. Heat a pan, add 1 tbsp of oil to it. Further, include the marinated chicken malai tikka saute it on a medium flame. And allow it to get dry by covering the lid at low flame.
  2. When the chicken gets dry add 1 chopped onion, 3 tsp chopped capsicum & 3 tsp grated carrot, salt to taste, 1/2 tsp of black pepper powder, 1/4th tsp of chopped green chilies mix it well & cook for 2 minutes then turn off the stove and keep the chicken malai tikka stuff aside.
  3. Now begin with the preparation of the crepes, first heat a non-stick tawa on medium flame add some water to it, with the help of ladle spoon pour the batter on tawa and spread it slightly and cook both the sides of crepes.
  4. Once it is cooked, place the crepe on a plate and follow the same procedure for the remaining batter.
  5. On the other side, take the bowl of chicken malai tikka stuffing and include 1/2 cup of mozzarella cheese/ Any available cheese (grated) mix everything well & keep it aside.
  6. To seal the crepes stuffing, make a slurry of - 1 tbsp of all purpose flour (maida) & 2 tbsp of water mix it.
  7. Finally, start stuffing the crepes, take a crepe now place the chicken malai tikka & cheese stuff in the center and wrap it by applying slurry on the edges. In this way, do the stuffing of remaining crepes.
  8. Now, at last heat, a pan add 1 tbsp oil spread it then add crepes to it, at low flame cook the crepes for 2 minutes each side by covering the lid. The reason to cover the lid is to allow the cheese to gets melt in it and to form a good texture. 
  9. Once the crepes are ready serve it with ketchup.
Crepe Tips
  • Use a nonstick pan to make your crepes.
  • You want your crepes to be nice & thin, using the minimum amount of batter as possible per crepe. Do not overload the batter.
  • Let the crepe cook until it looks dry around the edges before trying to flip it.
